Before you begin

Top tips - Checklist

Three weeks before your campaign goes live, we advise you to:

  • Take the time to review the client’s website
Determine whether the client aims to drive an audience to take an online action.
  • Establish KPIs upfront
Determine which pages on their website align with their business and advertising goals, and whether there is a clear call to action in their creative content.
Be prepared to recommend two or three KPIs to your client.
  • Set proper expectations
Establish how the client has measured success in the past.
Focus on the learnings and the value the client provides.
  • Identify key players
Determine who at the advertiser will need to receive the tag and tagging instructions (also known as the advertiser’s technical contact or ”web manager”).
  • Identify if impression pixels are needed
If a new one is required, create a support ticket in the InnovidXP Help Center using the New CTV OTT pixel request type.

Steps to onboarding

The following table provides more detailed steps to onboard to XP:

Step  Details Who Best practices and links
1a Set up tag data

Response tag: Our Sales team sends a response pixel/tag via email, which you must place on all pages of the advertiser’s website. You can also use the Innovid container tag.

You can track different web URLs as long as the same web pixel is implemented.

Note:

  • Web response data is not retroactive. This means we start receiving website responses once the tag is correctly implemented.
  • If you are not using responses, see Uploading Web/App Response Files.

Actions/KPIs/Conversions: Optionally, set up action tags. Ensure you know precisely what you want to track and discuss with your Innovid representative.

  • You can capture visits to specific pages/URLs by indicating the KPI and corresponding URL to match.
  • To capture specific button clicks, such as ‘submit’, ‘add to cart’, and/or order IDs, subscriptions, or sales, action tags must be placed on the specific element that triggers that action or conversion. You are responsible for setting this up, but our Support team is available to assist if you encounter any issues during implementation. This is usually set up at the same time as the response pixel.
  • Submit a ticket if you want to receive the action tag for implementation
