XP + Ad Serving Advanced Placement-Level Settings Guide

Purpose

This article provides instructions on adding values to the Innovid ad serving platform to gain more insights at the placement level.

Use the Advanced Settings in the Placement Details page to add the CPM Rate field and Custom Fields, which will allow this information to surface in the Ad Serving Analytics and InnovidXP platforms.

This article is for self-service customers using Innovid ad serving and measurement tools.


Overview

The following fields can be added via Advanced Settings:

  • CPM Rate: This allows you to add CPM values directly into the platform when values have not been pushed via Innovid's integration with Prisma MediaOcean. 
  • Custom Fields: This includes three custom fields for specific values you would like to add to the placement level of your campaigns. The fields can be used for any type of information, such as placement IDs from other vendors and other metadata.

You can add these fields manually in the platform or use the Media Plan spreadsheet.

Note: The Include in Measurement checkbox is selected by default in the Advanced Settings section if the placement is included and displayed in the measurement dashboards. It should not be deselected unless it is specifically agreed that a given placement needs to be removed from measurement reporting.


Adding CPM Rate value

To add manually in the platform:

  1. In CMT, select the campaign and open the Placements list page.
  2. Select any placement to view the Placement Details page and scroll to the bottom.
  3. Expand the Advanced Settings section to view the Cost Type and Rate fields.
  4. Enter a Rate and select Create.

    Note the following:
    • The Cost Type defaults to "CPM".
    • The Booked Quantity is not mandatory but can be completed.

To add the CPM Rate via Excel:

  1. In CMT, select the campaign and open the Placements list page.
  2. Select any placement to view the Placement Details page.
  3. Select Export Media Plan to download the Media Plan Excel sheet. The downloaded file will contain the campaign ID in the title.
  4. Scroll to the Cost Rate column (next to the Cost Type column) and enter the rate for each placement.
  5. Save the Excel and import it into CMT (select Import Media Plan).

Once the Excel is saved and processed, the values you entered for each placement will appear in the Rate field.


Adding Custom Field values

To add manually in the platform:

  1. In CMT, select the campaign and open the Placements list page.
  2. Select any placement to view the Placement Details page and scroll to the bottom.
  3. Expand the Advanced Settings section to view Custom Fields 1, 2, and 3.
  4. Add values to one or more Custom Fields and select Save.

To add Custom Fields values via Excel:

  1. In CMT, select the campaign and open the Placements list page.
  2. Select any placement to view the Placement Details page.
  3. Select Export Media Plan to download the Media Plan Excel sheet. The downloaded file will contain the campaign ID in the title.
  4. Scroll to the Custom Field columns (there are three) and enter the values.
  5. Save the Excel and import it into CMT (select Import Media Plan).

Once the Excel is saved and processed, the values you entered for each placement will appear in Custom Fields.
